[Suggestion] Son of a Lizard - Existence is Elsewhere

Son of a Lizard is a fairly new project -created by Pijo- that embeds several influences from music genres that mostly flourished in past decades. In a constant soundtrack-ish attitude (fans of Suspiria check asap!) 'Son of Lizard' takes us for a trip that crosses over krautrock and Berlin school, always with a spacey & dreamy approach.

Son of a Lizard's announcement:
Son of a Lizard is (let's call it) an electronic music project started a while ago. I developed a few ideas with an acoustic guitar that were transferred and progressed in a music production software. Influenced by a slight variation of sounds, I found the process amusing.

Fans of Harmonia, Goblin, John Carpenter, Vangelis, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk... I hope you enjoy Son of a Lizard, thank you!

Named after a song of lead vocalist's former band, Thunderbird Divine combine heavy rock with psychedelic attitude, fuzzy atmosphere with a 70s touch and a constant mood to blend several genres (even more sludgy stuff) in their music while keeping a quite raw approach with mild passages and heavy outbursts.

quoting the band's comment for the album:
That split moment right before you get what you longed-for. That tiny space in time and the feeling that lives inside it. The Last Second.

Six years have passed since the band's first EP release (Their Methlab EP) and it was about time they gave a new release! Luckily this is a full length and the debut album for trio from Ioannina (based in Athens). Having seen them in the meantime in live performance I had noticed that their music was quite heavier (at times) compared to what they've presented us with their EP, so I was somehow ready for a heavier approach in their new release, and here it is!
While not forgetting at all their melodic and atmospheric side they keep composing their music in a cinematic style but this time they added a lot of heavy moments. Every composition gives you the impression that it could be part of a bigger soundtrack and in some cases there's a feeling that a scene is being unfolded slowly at times and leading to an outburst occasionaly.
If you're into post rock the chances are "The Last Second" is not going to blow you away but it will definitely please you and make you play it over and over again. Personally, I believe the fans of "Their Methlab" really have in their hands the album they were expecting for so many years and there is no bigger satisfaction to see a band you like delivering such a nice release.
If you've never heard of Their Methlab in the past then this is a very nice chance get to know them!

Their Methlab's brief bio

First jams for methlab came around late 2011, in Ioannina city. In March, 2013 they released a demo - EP. The band’s music is a mixture of post rock/metal with psy rock elements, trying to create a unique expression for itself. Over the years they have shared the stage with Jakob (ΝΖ), Toundra (ES), Samsara Blues Experiment (DE), Elder (USA). As of 2017, headquarters of methlab facilities (both residency and laboratories) are located in Athens.

Hi Malaya is greek band based in Volos. It's a power trio (guitar, bass, drums), since 2015. Inspired by rock, surf, and mediterranean music.

Two years after their first demo release they are back with their debut album "ZZ and the Dictators". And it seems that those 2 years Hi Malaya have been working hard for this debut which is consisted of 9 instrumental tracks with a total duration of 54 minutes!

From the ashes of London's Landskap comes Named by the Sun. Blending blues attitude and heavy rock injected with a few doses of psychedelic mood the band's first recording is Deathcap, a 3-track instrumental EP featuring artwork by collage artist Dead Galaxy.

Spring has already started to spread on the north hemisphere but three black metallers from Thessaloniki [GR] have different plans and are trying to delay it's coming a little bit more.

"Throne of Blood" are consisted of two former members of Sicks Daze, the guitarist and the bassist (here playing the drums) plus Ioanna ("Kakodemon", former member of Freefall and Kakoranger) in bass.

[Suggestion] Okwaho - Okwaho

It's been almost 2,5 years since Okwaho released their first 3-track-demo and now they are back with their debut full album!

It's heavy, it's low, it's slow, its sludgy, it's dark it's massive and it's angry, balancing between doom and sludge, with a 'bluesy' attitude and the proper vocals. Highly recommended for fans of ultra bass sound, massive distortion and slow speeds.

“Sanctuary” is the debut album by Terrapin, a relatively new trio from Athens, Greece, consisting of seasoned musicians who have left their mark on the local scene (two of the three are founding members of acclaimed psych-prog rockers No Man’s Land).
