[Suggestion] Son of a Lizard - Existence is Elsewhere

Son of a Lizard - Existence is Elsewhere
Son of a Lizard is a fairly new project -created by Pijo- that embeds several influences from music genres that mostly flourished in past decades. In a constant soundtrack-ish attitude (fans of Suspiria check asap!) 'Son of Lizard' takes us for a trip that crosses over krautrock and Berlin school, always with a spacey & dreamy approach.
Son of a Lizard's announcement:
Son of a Lizard
is (let's call it) an electronic music project started a while ago. I developed a few ideas with an acoustic guitar that were transferred and progressed in a music production software. Influenced by a slight variation of sounds, I found the process amusing.
Fans of Harmonia, Goblin, John Carpenter, Vangelis, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk... I hope you enjoy Son of a Lizard, thank you!

[Suggestion] Cargo Lift - Then

Cargo Lift - Then (artwork)
Cargo Lift, the alternative, prog rock band from Thessaloniki have just released their 3rd work which is also their first full length album. After releasing 2 EP’s , ‘First’ in 2017 and ‘Disguised’ in 2019 and with the aura and motivation for creation that has been given to them by the covid19-stigmatized 2020, they are now presenting their debut album ‘THEN’.

[Suggestion] Citrus Blossom - Eyes Filled with Apathy

Citrus Blossom - Eyes Filled with Apathy
Citrus Blossom is a power trio from Thessaloniki, Greece dedicated to high energy rock ‘n’ roll, and "Eyes Filled With Apathy” is their debut EP. This release, in its totality refers to the consequences of ignoring the sociopolitical problems and the violation of human rights, either near you or far away. It links apathy to guilt and underlines that this ignorance that dried out the lives of billions, will someday dry out our luck too and put us in the same position as the persecuted of this world.

[Suggestion] Six Steps Above the Earth - The Drone Sessions #1

Six Steps Above the Earth - The Drone Sessions #1
Six Steps Above the Earth have recently uploaded in their official bandcamp page a single 46minute track with the title "Μemories emerge from the cracks like blooming flowers" which is actually the first part of their Drone Sessions. It's not some new 'release', after all, they are still in the process of creating their 6th step, which will probably be delayed with all the covid-19 plague that's going on right now.

[Suggestion] Megalith Levitation - Acid Doom Rites

Megalith Levitation - Acid Doom Rites
Megalith Levitation was born back in 2016 in the grey and poisonous atmosphere of Chelyabinsk (Russia) by three guys having different musical backgrounds and that never played together before. After three years of practice and hard work their debut album 'Acid Doom Rites' was finally released on 22 Sept. 2019.

[Suggestion] The Answer? - …And It’s Already Tomorrow

The Answer? - …And It’s Already Tomorrow
In their second discographical effort, …And It’s Already Tomorrow, THE ANSWER?, veterans of Greece’s rock scene, attempted to broaden their horizons and give us a particularly satisfying album which seems to be stuck in a kind of melacholic and nostalgic punk rock mood, embedding at the same time several contemporary pop elements and paying tribute to the indy scene of the '90s.

Top-100 Albums of the Decade (by Pijo)

Top-100 Albums of the Decade (by Pijo) 2010-2019
This is a list made by 'Pijo' with his top-100 albums of the decade 2010-2019.

In his own words:

[Suggestion] Six Steps Above the Earth - Step 5

Six Steps Above the Earth - Step 5
This is the fifth step of 'Six Steps Above the Earth'. A step closer towards that dark and solitary underground place they continuously seek. Heavier, slower, even more minimal and dark, steadily lonely but never self-centered just serving a single basic idea.

[Suggestion] TUNKS - Julio's walls shake

This is the debut album of the instrumental heavy rock trio named TUNKS. The band is based in Bordeaux, France and last spring (1st April 2019) released "Julio's walls shake".

[Suggestion] Mantra Machine - Heliosphere

It's been five years since Mantra Machine's debut release 'Nitrogen' and finally the trio from the Netherlands is back with a brand new album "Heliosphere".

[Suggestion] Vain Valkyries - Party on Deimos

Vain Valkyries - Party on Deimos
Two brothers from France: a guitarist & a drummer, heavy rock & metal attitude, tons of groove, alternative, and radio-friendly aesthetics, full of 90s influences.

[Suggestion] Dark Numbers - If It Was It Would Be So

Dark Numbers - If It Was It Would Be So
Dark Numbers is a fairly new band from Portland, Oregon (US) featuring current and former members of bands like Humours, Cliterati, Hot Victory, Poison Idea, Stöller, Lord Dying, Prize Hog, and Sioux. A lot of the band's sound comes from the baritone guitar riffs of guitarist Dan O'Hara and the dramatic vocals/synths of frontwoman Natalie Lucio.

[Suggestion] Speedhack - Speedhack

Speedhack - Speedhack
This entry is something you would definitely not expect to see among Downtuned's Suggestions but hey, it's summer and some experimentation is always good 😏 This is the kind of release which despite its urban style it could perfectly acompany you while drinking something cold in the shade of tree during a hot summer day or finishing the last beers as the sun goes down chilling things out. Blending several different genres but always filtering them through the electronic prism Speedhack make an interesting suggestion for fans of experimental music.

[Suggestion] Kooba Tercu - KharrĂŒb

Kooba Tercu - KharrĂŒb
Kooba Tercu return with their second album, KharrĂŒb. The album is released by an eclectic group of record companies: Hominid Sounds (UK), BodyBlows & Mafia (GR).

[Suggestion] 7-ODDS - What Are The Odds?

7-ODDS - What Are The Odds?
Three years after their first EP release, 7-ODDS, the 5-piece garage band from Athens returned with their debut LP "What Are The Odds?". Flirting with vintage aesthetics and in a constant party mood although it gets darker from time to time, this is an album that isn't trying to impress anyone but I have a feeling that is going to be a very nice surprise to the fans of the sound that haven't yet discovered 7-ODDS.

[Suggestion] Bone Rave - Four Elements

Bone Rave - Four Elements
four elements synopsis: Primitive rock'n'roll atmosphere, garage punk aesthetics, raw energy and a cover on Black Sabbath's Electric Funeral like you've never heard it before!
