'Aza Records' and 'Ypogeio' are very happy to announce that on May 21, Ypogeio will open its doors for two great band-artists that will offer the people of Thessaloniki a very special experience.
Six Steps Above The Earth and Ghone are exploring the dark side of music. With post rock, sludge and noiz elements and using baritone guitars, electric standup bass, effects and drums they will take you to places where we do not dare go on our own.

'Six Steps Above The Earth' is a new band but its members have been active on the Greek scene for a long time. Having played in bands like Lazy Aftershow, Mother Turtle, Vygotsky Circle and The Dandelion Fields, they united their forces to play slow, heavy music.
After releasing their split cassette "In a State of Hallucination"” and their new 20 minute long song "Darkness is Just Light Turned Inside out" they are ready to bring their new inspirations and ideas to life.
With a new lineup that is baritone guitar, drums, electric stand up bass, guitar, theremin and noise generator will test the limits of the PA and the audience. Inspired by Swans, Earth, Neurosis and other bands that constantly try the limits of heavy music.

'John Kontan' started playing as Ghone in 2011 and has already 8 releases. His first shows were alongside Nadja and Aidan Baker and they toured Eastern Europe together.
He has played the first Polis Music Festival, Fresh Music Festival at the historic Pindaros Hotel and the first Up the Wall theater festival where he played alongside the live painting performance of Friki Crox.
He is constantly experimenting with various music instruments to create melancholic drones or more aggressive music with hand made devices. His new release will be out on May through Coherent States.
