We started nearly 2 years ago as a trio, with Sol, Bill and our bassist
Joe back then. We were friends who enjoyed the same style of music and we were
talking all the time about founding a stoner rock band. After a few months of
playing as a trio, we had a jam with a very close friend of ours so Foum became
our 4th member as a second guitarist. In summer of 2013 our bassist
Joe left, and he was replaced by Jojo after a few months. We are based in West
Athens.
Which are your musical influences?
Well, we are influenced by many genres, mainly desert/stoner rock (most
of the 90s era) , 60s-70s psychedelic
rock , grunge , doom, sludge , and even
punk.
What are your lyrics about? What catches your interest?
Everyday stuff, you know, good or
bad. Most of the songs’ lyrics are like that. Some songs have metaphors in them
, or inside jokes and stuff…
Is the communication with the crowd something that you care about, in
all levels, or do you do music for yourselves?
Actually its kind a both. We play music just for personal fun and
expression, if someone likes it its cool! If not, it is cool too! We really
don’t care to please everybody, we give our 100% on stage and that’s what
matters to us.
Do you feel like you’re a part of a particular “scene” in which you
would like to join and contribute or you are indifferent about it?
We are members of the underground scene. The whole thing is like a big family . A lot of people have
helped us, band-members by inviting us to play together, spreading our music ,
even in the recordings we did, we did them in the rehearsal room of Half Gramme
of Soma. We have made a lot of friends in those 2 years .
How do you imagine that the band will be in ten years from now?
Ten years is a looooooot of time…Who knows?...
Which famous artist you would like to do a guest to a record of yours
and why?
Good question! We do have some special guests on our upcoming release , from
a band that influenced us heavily in what we do. We would like to have Chris
Goss as a producer at the time we are
ready to record a full length. Having the producer of Kyuss , QOTSA, Nebula etc. to capture our
sound and learn from him directly would be beyond our craziest dream. Now as far as inviting a musician, there are
a lot which we would invite! Perhaps Sergio Ch. from Los Natas or Stefan from
Colour Haze, because of their unique guitar style!
What plans do you have for the near future?
We have 2 very important gigs in this month, we support Sigiriya (-ex Acrimony) in Thessaloniki and Athens and we are thrilled
(-a big thanks to Elina from Smoke the Fuzz gigs and Decibel Prods) ! We
worship Acrimony, so having a chance to share the stage with those people can’t
be described in words … As I said earlier , we are self-releasing our debut EP
in a couple of months (right now it’s on the mix) . And we want to promote it by playing live everywhere we can!
We wish you good luck to whatever you’re doing, the epilogue is yours.
We all
would like to thank you very much for the interview! A huge thanks to all the
people that helped and supported us in any way! Cheers!
