We had a little chat with the Greek doomsters Stonenrow and we present you this mini interview to get to know the band better.
Welcome to Downtuned.
Welcome to Downtuned.
Tell us a few words
about the group, when and where did you get started? How did you meet?
We met some time ago, back in 2008 to be exact. A
bunch of worked up guys, wanting to play some heavy rock tunes and through
drugged sessions, a lot of jams and interchanging bass players we have the
current lineup. Treliaris on the beats, Mike on mids, and John (our newest
member) on low freqs. We started playing at many different studios until
finally ended up playing at our own place, feeding curious neighbors to
electrified jackal teeth.
Which are your musical influences?
Tons of good music, if we had to name every band or
musician, this interview would end tomorrow. There is so much great stuff out
there! We listen to about anything, from classic concerts, old-school punk, ska
and electro trance to yells and screams in some abstract noise tribal drone
manifesto.
What are your lyrics
about? What catches your interest?
Everything and nothing. The words come out of thin air,
like someone’s there whispering them to our ears.
Is the communication
with the crowd something that you care about, in all levels, or do you do music
for yourselves?
It depends. It starts within you but then the power is
too strong to hold it just for yourself, so you actually go out there to
relieve yourself from that burden and make someone else listen, share the
groove, invoke a demon or two… That sort of thing.
Do you feel like
you’re a part of a particular “scene” in which you would like to join and
contribute or you are indifferent about it?
Nah. We have our own demons to take care of…
How do you imagine
that the band will be in ten years from now?
Not on top of Billboards that’s for sure. Hahaha!
Which famous artist
you would like to do a guest to a record of yours and why?
Define famous…
What plans do you
have for the near future?
Create - Play Live - Record. Not in this particular
order.
We wish you good luck
to whatever you’re doing, the epilogue is yours.
Cheerxxx.
