Welcome to Downtuned. Tell us a few words about the group, when and where did you get started? How did you meet?
Welcome to Downtuned. Tell us a few words about the group, when and where did you get started? How did you meet?
Monk started after a jam we had someday in June of
2011 that was good, so we keep on rehearsing till present. We were friends long
time before, but never been together as a band in the past.
We are all into bands like Electric Wizard, Sleep,
Acid king, Cathedral, Saint Vitus, Yob… basically doom is our common
thing. We don't care to be strictly under a particular label, that is far too
misleading anymore.
What are your
lyrics about? What catches your interest?
Well..there's no singer (yet) so there are no lyrics.
Our interest lies around all those horror movies like Dario Argento stuff or
Hammer films, so we like to consider our music been horror related.
Is the
communication with the crowd something that you care about, in all levels, or
do you do music for yourselves?
Just make music for ourselves that everybody is
welcome to listen and like or dislike.
Do you feel
like you’re a part of a particular “scene” in which you would like to join and
contribute or you are indifferent about it?
I guess we are already a part of the 'underground'
scene. No mater any musical style we can collaborate with everyone as long as
people involved express a good vibe.
How do you
imagine that the band will be in ten years from now?
Who knows???
Which famous
artist you would like to do a guest to a record of yours and why?
Matt Pike or Mike Scheidt or Wino because they are
awesome.
What plans
do you have for the near future?
We're preparing the ground for recording our first
album and hope to be able for some gigs around.
Living in an island far from the capital makes it difficult to do as
many things we wish with the band, but we're going to try our best and will
keep it up as far as we have fun in our rehearsing rituals.
We wish you
good luck to whatever you’re doing, the epilogue is yours.
Thanks for interview and thank You for reading those
lines!
