This is Nowhere - Waiver

This is nowhere have just released their fourth LP, Waiver (2024) on Ouga Booga and the Mighty Oug! This is Nowhere is a five-piece band from Salonica, Greece, known for their genre-blending sound that spans noise, blues, experimental, and psych rock.

While still hallucinatory, Waiver (2024) sounds like band's most extroverted album to date. In this album, This is Nowhere change tact, making their way back into the earth’s atmosphere. They retain many aspects of their expansive, doom-inspired psych, while evolving toward a more pronounced vision of where experimental rock can be taken. Waiver highlights their unique style and succeeds in showing an expanded understanding of the band.
Since their formation in 2009, they have evolved their style to include elements of dub and shoegaze, enriched with layers of bass and atmospheric effects. As they moved towards colder soundscapes, they introduced synths and theremins into their work, reflecting a diverse range of influences in a minimalistic style. The band continues to explore the post-hardcore spectrum, and their latest recordings further showcase their innovative approach.

Loving Jane - Isolate

 

Loving Jane is the personal/solo project of Thanos Vlachos (vocalist/guitarist @ Out of the Earth) since 2017 where he experiments with psychedelic soundscapes, more often with instrumental tracks, often embedding Greek mountain folk music scales into guitar licks, backed up by synths and guitar effects. [Usual location of the project: Arghirochori, a small village on the foothills of mount Oeta,Greece].

"Isolate" is an anthology of songs and instrumental tracks, composed during the period from 2017, until November of 2020.
 

In Thanos' words: 

The whole procedure of making this album, from recordings, editing and mixing, to designing the artwork and cassette cover, kept me sane and motivated during these really hard times of uncertainty, doubt and fear.

In this album I experimented with more psychedelic soundscapes,filtered the greek mountain folk music scales into guitar licks,backed up by Korg micro synths and guitar effects. DIY all the way.
