Two years after their debut "Alarm" (read a few words here) and having already been established as of one of the important and uprising forces of the Greek Underground, Deaf Radio, are now back with their new single "Astypalea" which is the first composition of their the 'post-Alarm' era.
The band has stated:
"The song was literally written on the domes of the churches of Astypalea island during the summer of 2017, it is the first composition of the 'post-Alarm' period and for us this is a song that should be played and listened to in high volumes! If you want to join us in the emotional maze that we, as band, are currently walking about then the lyrics and the music will surely show you the way!"
With both of the Alarm vinyl editions sold out and several appearances in festivals alongside bands as The Killers, The Kills, All them Witches, Planet of Zeus, 1000mods, ViC, Puta Volcano, Half Gramme of Soma etc, Deaf Radio last December ended the 'Alarm' era with a 40-day european tour, performing live in about 35 cities. Their sophomore album is due for release later this autumn (2019).
listen to Astypalea on bandcamp:
lyricsFlares and bright lights, becoming a god for a while
Headlights on waves, all our memories aligned
Reflections above us, controlling the space, feeling your soul
Ice eyes you‘ll melt and I‘ll be starting the fire
Endless approaching, it’s sneaking away from our wet hands
Cracks on the floor and you will follow them home
Cause we are the people to tame this relentless explosion
Oh we don’t give a fuck for your club
All the flames
Drift away
And the funnels are narrowing
Somewhere in the desert of hell
Somewhere in the desert of hell
Somewhere in the desert of hell
Somewhere in the desert of hell
