This is the debut (3-track EP) release of the Italian (Sicily) band 600000 Mountains. They play instrumental heavy rock with a small essence of prog rock and lots of groove. Mild intros that lead to heavy rock outbursts with lots of riffs and tasty guitaristic parts, this is definitely an instrumental release that won't get you bored.
A very nice small debut from a new band that generates expectations for the future because while they aren't being so original, their music and their performance reflects their passion for heavy rock and experimentation and that's something I personaly love to see in a band that is on their first steps. Sicilian instrumental stoner/prog trio 600000 Mountains is going to release its debut EP Mister Sartorius on January 19, 2019. The EP is now available in full streaming premiere via Italian webzine Impatto Sonoro.
Details:
Inspired by the barren landscapes of Mount Etna and nourished by its black lava stones and dust, Mister Sartorius is the keeper of craters from which magma overflows. These shapeless floods of fire take the shape of stoner/doom riffing, prog structures, acid hard rock outbursts, bringing both to math rockschizophrenia and hypnotic psych obsession.
The band comment: "Mister Sartorius is born from the desire to mix our different musical pasts into a common denominator and from the will to overcome our limits. We wanted to realize a record having clear references - those of stoner and psych-rock - but at the same time speaking about us, giving voice to personal perspectives."
