Releases, in threes [#2] a 'Psych Disorder'

Releases, in threes [#2] a 'Psych Disorder'
- YURT - "III-Molluskkepokk"
- TAMAN SHUD - "Oracle War"
- IT'S NOT NIGHT: IT'S SPACE - "Our Birth is but a Sleep and a Forgetting"

In "Releases, in threes" three albums of about the same genre or attitude (or not) are reviewed in brief. Probably one would enjoy listening the three of them in a row, no matter the order.

Yurt - III - Molluskkepokk
 Yurt - III-Molluskkepokk (2016, Ireland)
The band about themselves: "YURT gathered at the dusk of 2006 with a criteria of conducting experiments in the broader field of progressive rock music."
Us about the band: brain-melting prog rock with metal & space rock extensions.
Facts: 3rd full album. The definition of a "prog-psych disorder".
Short comment: Nothing you've heard lately resembles this shit (probably).
Strong points: the dramatic atmosphere created by the insistent percussion, bass and guitar playing, framed by the sci-fi electronics and the "stressful" vocals.
We want... more from a band that seems to have been born for experimenting.
Best places to enjoy it: Anywhere dark. Try it with headphones.
For a quick taste... press play on Testament Zero.

Taman Shud - Oracle War
Taman Shud - Oracle War (2016, UK)
The band about themselves: Necro-psych.
Us about the band: Dark, cosmic, psych-punk.
Facts: 3rd release. 2nd full album. Darker and more violent.
Short comment: Darkened, dirty, vast, ritualistic, horrifying, apocalyptic.
Strong points: Simple in its complexity with an addictively immersive atmosphere.
We want... to know the truth behind the Tamám Shud case.
Best places to enjoy it: In a big hall with the amps turned up to eleven.
For a quick taste... press play on Oracle War.

It’s Not Night: It’s Space - Our Birth is but A Sleep and a Forgetting
It’s Not Night: It’s Space - Our Birth is but A Sleep and a Forgetting (2016, USA)
The band about themselves: Heavy Raga-roll Drone Journeys to the Depths of Inner & Outer Space.
Us about the band: Instrumental psych-space-rock.
Facts: 3rd release. 2nd full album. Even more spacec-out.
Short comment: Highly addictive, intense, "cosmic" compositions.
Strong points: Tasteful compositions with incredible flow.
We want... to see them live asap.
Best places to enjoy it: On a summer night under the starry sky.
For a quick taste... press play on The Beard Of Macroprosopus.
