Welcome to DT. Tell us a few words about the group, when and
where did you get started? How did you meet?
We are Sons Of
Hogs from Volos, Greece. We are playing together since September 2013 but we
know each other for several years since our hometowns "rock
community" is not that big and we almost all know each other in some kind
of way. At first we were trying to form a four-piece band but after a long time
searching for the other members we decided to take the risk and go two-piece,
with no guitars. We get positive feedback in our shows so we think it works.
Which are your musical influences?
We both like
bands from all genres of heavy music, from classic Hard Rock/Heavy Metal to
Mathcore and from Punk Rock to Powerviolence.
What’s your lyrics about? What catches your
interest?
We are not trying
to pass any kind of message through our lyrics. Just dark stuff and shitty things
that happens around us everyday.
Is the communication with the crowd something
that you care about, in all levels, or do you do music for yourselves?
Our first goal is
to enjoy ourselves and give everything we got playing our songs live. If people
like our songs that's very good but if they don't we won't stop anyway.
Do you feel like you’re a part of a particular
“scene” in which you would like to join and contribute or you are indifferent
about it?
I personally
think that the scene is one and it's called heavy music. I don't care about
"particular scenes". If you're playing doom metal or hardcore or
whatever it's the same to me. I see every band as an individual whatever the
genre.
How do you imagine that the band will be in
ten years from now?
With destroyed
throats and no hair.
Which famous artist you would like to do a
guest to a record of yours and why?
Mike Williams
from Eyehategod cause he's got issues.
What plans do you have for the near future?
Our first EP
comes out this December and our plan is to play live wherever we can.
We wish you good luck to whatever you’re
doing, the epilogue is yours.
Christians to the
lions!
